Your doctor’s advice
Buckle fractures of the wrist are very common injuries in children that will settle in time. Please take time to listen to the videos.
Do
- Elevate the wrist initially to reduce swelling
- Painkillers can be used initially to help
- Keep in the splint until the pain settles
- Begin to move the fingers as soon as able
Don’t
- Do not remove from the splint until 4 weeks minimum
- Do not return to sports until pain free for 2 weeks
